NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 24th March, 1941 :—
(a) Heavy gun practice between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "B" will be affected.
Alternative date-26th March, 1941.
(b) Heavy gun anti-aircraft practice between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 6.00
p.m. in the southern area of the Island.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
(c) Reserved between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight for heavy
gun practice in firing areas "D" and "E".
(d) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight in firing areas "D" and "E" PROVIDING THAT practice in para. 1 (c) above is NOT carried out.
2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 25th March, 1941 :-
(a) Heavy gun anti-aircraft practice between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and
6.00 p.m. in the southern area of the Island.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
(b) Reserved between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. for heavy gun practice originally arranged for 18th March in firing areas "D" and
·E".
(c) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
3. Light gun practice will be carried out between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight on 26th March, 1941.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
4. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 27th March, 1941:-
(a) Reserved between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. for heavy gun practice originally arranged for 18th March in firing areas "D" and
"E".
(b) Heavy gun practice between the hours of 6.30 p.m. and 11.00 p.m.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
Alternative date-3rd April, 1941.
(c) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
5. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 28th March, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
6. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
