Ordinance No. 18 of 1913.—An Ordinance to extend the provisions of the Steam Launch (Portection against Piracy) Ordinance,

1900, to certain classes of steamers.

Ordinance No. 23 of 1913.—An Ordinance to amend the Law relating to Ex-

plosive Substances.

Ordinance No. 24 of 1913.-An Ordinance to amend the Regulation of Chinese

Ordinance, 1888.

Ordinance No. 25 of 1913.-An Ordinance to amend the Merchant Shipping

Ordinance, 1899.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 313. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of Section 19 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordi- nances, 1903-1909, Mr. WILLIAM HILL to be a Second Class Sanitary Inspector, with effect from the 23rd September, 1913.

No. 314. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, been pleased to appoint Mr. EDGAR WILLIAM CARPENTER to be an Executive Engineer in the Public Works Department, with effect from the 28th July, 1913.

8th October, 1913.

No. 315.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to promote Lieutenants W. RUSSELL and G. E. STEWART of the Hongkong Volunteer Corps to the rank of Captain, with effect from the 1st and the 2nd October, 1913, respectively.

9th October, 1913.

No. 316. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under Section 4 of the Education Ordinance, 1913, (Ordinance No. 26 of 1913), Mr. ARTHUR RAMSDEN CAVALIER to act as an Inspector of Schools, with effect from the 20th September, 1913.

No. 317.-Government Notification No. 268 of the 23rd August, 1913, so far as it relates to Mr. R. C. BARLOW is hereby cancelled.
