EASTERN APPROACHES TO SINGAPORE.
Minefield Extended - Buoys Established.
Former Notice.-No. 150/1939 of the 5th September, 1939, hereby cancelled. Position.-Lat. 01° 16' N., long. 103° 53' E. (Approx.).
Date.-On and after 3rd March, 1941.
Details.-I. The eastern approach to Singapore Harbour and Roads will be closed
to shipping by mines.
Vessels entering the dangerous area do so at their own risk and
peril.
Dangerous Area. -The dangerous area is enclosed by the following
lines:
On the West. From the White Obelisk on Pulo Tembakul (Peak Island) in a direction 008° (true) to Outer Shoal Beacon; thence 043° (true)
to Siglap Obelisk.
On the North.-By the coast of Singapore Island.
On the South and East.-From the White Obelisk on Pulo
Tembakul (Peak Island) in a direction 151° (true) for a distance of 7 cables; thence 061° (true) for a distance of 20 miles; thence 040° (true) for a distance of 40 miles; thence 360° (true) to the coast of Singapore Island.
II. In order to facilitate the passage of small craft the channel between East and West St. John's Islands is left open until further notice. Red spherical buoys have been laid in the following positions :-
(i) 13 cables 238° from the light on Pulo Sakijang Pelepah (East
St. John Island).
(ii) 2 cables 300° from the occulting green light in Fairburn
Channel.
