11. Every person using a workmen's ticket book shall produce on demand to any official of the Company the certificate issued to him under Bye-law 4 and, in default thereof, shall pay the ordinary fare.

12. No person to whom a certificate under Bye-law 4 has been given shall authorise any other person to use or attempt to use any workmen's ticket book covered by such certificate.'

13. A bonâ fide workman" shall mean and include any person engaged in manual labour whose wages shall not exceed $20 a month (but shall not include domestic or menial servants).

14. The separate tickets for each ride must be torn out of the workmen's ticket book by the car conductor only. Such tickets will not be accepted if torn out by the passenger.

15. Any person infringing any provision of these bye-laws shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $10 for each offence.

No. 287.-It is hereby notified that the Chung Kwok Ki Tuk To Wui ( #) has been exempted by the Governor-in-Council from registration under the Societies Ordinance, 1911, (Ordinance No. 47 of 1911), and the name of the said society, is hereby added to the List of Exempted Societies, published in Government Notification No. 129 of 1913, under the heading "Religious (Chinese)”.

No. 288.- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GEORGE MURCHISON FLETCHER to be his Private Secretary with effect from the 31st August, 1913.

Appointment made by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government under Section 6 of the Coroner's Ordinance, 1888, (Ordinance No. 5 of 1888), and Section 17 of the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, 1896. (Ordinance No. 7 of 1896), this 11th day of September, 1913.

I, CLAUD SEVERN, Officer Administering the Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, do hereby by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 6 of the Coroner's Ordinance, 1888, (Ordinance No. 5 of 1888), appoint Dr. KENELM HUTCHISON DIGBY to be a Medical Officer for the purposes of Section 6 of the said Ordinance.

And I do further under Sub-section 5 of Section 17 of the Births and Deaths Registra- tion Ordinance, 1896, (Ordinance No. 7 of 1896), appoint Dr. KENELM HUTCHISON DIGBY to be a Medical Officer for the purpose of instituting inquiries with a view to ascertaining the true cause of death of any person who has not been attended during his last illness by a registered Medical Practitioner and of reporting thereon to the Head of the Sanitary Depart- ment or to a Registrar of Deaths.
