ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSION SERVICE).

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve:-

1941.

Tchurin, Peter Jacob, with effect from 27th November,

Hagedorn, Henry William, with effect from 29th Novem- ber, 1941.

AMENDMENT.

The Hong Kong Auxiliary Transport Service Instructions, 1941, published in the Gazette of 5th September, 1941, as Government Notification 1063, are amended by the substitu- tion for sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of paragraph 2 thereof of the following--

(a) "Controller" means the Controller of Land Transport or, as the case may be, the Controller of Water Transport, who shall be the persons respectively holding the offices of Controller of Land Transport and Controller of Water Trans- port;

(b) "Deputy Controller" means the officer who for the time being holds the office of Deputy Controller of Land Transport or, as the case may be, Deputy Controller of Water Transport;

AMENDMENT.

The Hong Kong Auxiliary Medical Corps Instructions, 1941, published in the Gazette of 19th September, 1941, as Government Notification 1137, are amended-

(1) by the deletion, in sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph 2 thereof, of the words "Commissioner, Assistant Commis- sioner, District Officers, Divisional Surgeons and Corps Surgeons, St. John Ambulance Brigade,”;

(2) by the deletion, in sub-paragraph (e) of paragraph 2 thereof, of the words "Divisional Superintendents of St. John Ambulance Brigade, Post Communication Officers of St. John Ambulance Brigade,"; and

(3) by the deletion, in paragraph 3 thereof, of the words the St. John Ambulance Brigade,”.
