ORDINANCE No. 10 of 1899. (MERCHANT SHIPPING).

By virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, the Governor in Council amends the regulations made thereunder contained in Tables T and U to those regulations appearing at pages 356-382 of Volume I of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition) as follows:-

Amendments.

1. In Table T, regulation 4 under heading "Forms of licence books", there shall be added at the end thereof a further form of licence and conditions as follows:

Class V. For vessels with mechanical means of propul-

sion not licensed in classes I, II, III or IV.

CONDITIONS.

1. This licence must be deposited at the Harbour Master's Office or at one of the Harbour Master's Stations on each occasion upon which the vessel to which it is issued arrives at or in the vicinity of such office or station and the master of such vessel shall thereupon give such information as to his late voyage regarding the cargo carried, the arms on board, and any other information that may be demanded of him.

This licence will be returned to the master on clearance after similar information by him has been given as to his projected voyage.

2. The vessel for which this licence is issued shall not leave the Waters of the Colony or be under way within these Waters (except by reason of stress of weather) without having the licence on board.

3. This licence must be produced on demand to every harbour: or police or revenue officer in the Waters of the Colony.

4. This licence is not transferable. It is valid only for the vessel to which it is issued and to such vessel only for so long as such vessel remains the property of the owner named therein.
