The Trade Marks (Emergency) Rules, 1940, made by me pursuant to the Trade Marks (Emergency) Ordinance, 1940, section 8, and approved by the Legislative Council on the 18th day of April, 1940, and published as Government Noti- fication No. 422 in the Gazette of 19th April, 1940, are hereby amended as follows:-
Amendment.
Rule 9 is amended by the deletion from the fourth line thereof of the words wherever possible" and the substitu- tion therefor of the following words "unless, having regard to the circumstances, the Registrar considers it inexpedient. (as to the whole or a part of those documents) or impossible,”.

No. 1347. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. ARCHIBALD HENRY ELSTON to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police, with effect from 23rd July, 1941.
