ORDINANCE No. 22 of 1910. (MIDWIVES).
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Midwives Ordinance, 1910, as amended by the Midwives Amendment Ordinance, No. 17 of 1941, and of all other enabling powers, the Midwives Board rescinds the regulations published as Notification No. 256 in the Gazette of the 1st March, 1940, and makes the following regulations :---
1. These regulations may be cited as "The Midwives (Post-Graduate Study) Regulations, 1941."
2. In these regulations the following expressions have the meanings hereby respectively assigned to them:---
· Post-Graduate Study means a post-graduate course of instruction in midwifery prescribed by the Board in an approved institution for post-graduate study.

Approved Institution for Post-Graduate Study an institution approved by the Board in accordance with the provisions hereinafter contained for the conduct of courses of post-graduate instruction prescribed in these regulations.
Tutor for Post-Graduate Course means a person who is on the staff of an approved institution for post-graduate study and who has been nominated by such institution and approved by the Board for the performance of the duties prescribed in regulations 6 and 7 (a).
"Secretary means the Secretary of Midwives Board.
3. Every midwife who in the year 1940 or any sub- sequent year gives notice in writing to the secretary of her intention to practise as such shall within 24 months of the giving of such notice (subject nevertheless as hereinafter provided) complete to the satisfaction of the Board a course of post-graduate study of the nature prescribed by Regulation 6 extending over a period of not less than four consecutive weeks at an approved institution for post-graduate study unless
(a) she is exempted under the provisions contained in Regulation 4; or
(b) she has within the seven years immediately preceding the year in question either completed a like course to the like satisfaction or passed the examination or examinations for the time being prescribed by the Board for admission to the roll of midwives.
Provided that :-
(i) if such midwife was enrolled by the Board prior to 1st January 1940, her first course of post-graduate study shall be taken at such date prior to the 1st January, 1947, as the secretary may determine.
