No. 1224. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Defence Secretary to be a competent authority for the purposes of regulation 73 of the Defence Regulations, 1940.

No. 1225.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JOHN MAURICE WILSON, B.Sc., to act as Principal, Northcote Training College, with effect from 16th October, 1941, and until further notice.

No. 1226. With reference to Government Notification No. 764 of 4th October, 1935, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ERIC JOHN REINHOLD MITCHELL, O.B.E., E.D., to be a Member of the Traffic Board, vice Mr. GEOFFREY SAMUEL ARCHBUTT, with effect from 8th October, 1941.

Mr. WILLIAM JOHN ANDERSON to be Controller of Firewood, with effect from

27th September, 1940.

Mr. WILLIAM TILLINGHAST STANTON to be Assistant Controller of Firewood, with

effect from 19th September, 1941.
