In accordance with regulation 8 of the Regulations as to grant, forfei- ture, restoration and other matters concerning The Efficiency Medal in regard to the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, published as Notification No. 579 in the Gazette of 2nd August, 1935, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize the following award :-

Efficiency Medal.

ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve:-

David, Emmanuel Brook, with effect from 29th Septem- ber, 1941.

Ritchie, John Archibald, with effect from 1st October,

1941.
