1. The Council met pursuant to adjournment. His Excellency the Governor

occupied the Chair.

2. The Minutes of the Meeting held on the 7th August, 1941, were confirmed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS,

3. His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council expressing appreciation of

the services rendered to the Colony by Sir GEOFFRY NORTHCOTE.

The Honourable Mr. JOHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON addressed the Council on behalf of the Unofficial Members of the Council endorsing His Excellency's remarks.

The Honourable Mr. Lo MAN-KAM addressed the Council on behalf of his Chinese colleagues and himself, supporting the tribute paid to Sir GEOFFRY NORTHCOTE and extending the best wishes of the Chinese community to Sir GEOFFRY and Lady NORTHCOTE in their retirement.
