INSTRUCTIONS MADE BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR UNDER THE CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS REGULATIONS, 1941, PRESCRIBING THE PERIOD OF ENROLMENT AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE OF MEMBERS OF THE AUXILIARY

CONSERVANCY CORPS.

1. These Instructions may be cited as the Hong Kong Auxiliary Conservancy Corps Instructions, 1941.

2. In these Instructions--

(a) Chairman

means the Chairman of the Urban

(b) conservancy duties include the collection and disposal of the dead and the collection and disposal of night- soil and refuse and such other measures for the maintenance of cleanliness and the prevention of disease as may seem necessary to the Council;

(e) "Corps means the Auxiliary Conservancy Corps;

(d) "Corps equipment" includes all uniform clothing, boots, accoutrements, badges, tools and other gear and effects supplied by the Government and issued to a member of the Corps;

(e) "Council" means the Urban Council unless some other Council is indicated;

(f)Inspector" includes any Health Inspector, Sanitary Inspector and any officer for the time being performing the duties of an Inspector;

(g)

members" includes all persons who are enrolled for service in the Corps, irrespective of rank;

(h) officers "

includes the Secretary of the Urban Council and Health and Sanitary Inspectors;

(i) the period of the present emergency period ending with such date as the Governor may by order declare to be the date on which the emergency which was the occasion of making these Instructions came to an end.
