In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, His Excellency the Governor amends the Hong Kong Daylight-Saving Regula- tions, 1941, published as Government Notification No. 724 in the Gazette of the 13th June, 1941, as follows:-
Amendment.
Regulation 4 of the Hong Kong Daylight-Saving Regula- tions, 1941, is rescinded and the following regulation is sub- stituted therefor :-
4.-Hong Kong Winter time will commence at 3.00 a.m. standard time (4.00 a.m. Hong Kong Summer time) on Wednesday, the 1st October, 1941.

ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve :-
Suiter, John Ross Muskett, with effect from 11th Septem- ber, 1941.
Lock, Walter Heathcote, with effect from 17th Septem- ber, 1941.
