COMMISSION passed under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet, appointing Sir MARK AITCHISON YOUNG, K.C.M.G., to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies.

WE do, by this Our Commission under Our Sign Manual Appointment. and Signet, appoint you, the said Sir MARK AITCHISON YOUNG, Young, to be, during Our pleasure, Our Governor and Commander- K.C.M.G.. in-Chief in and over Our Colony of Hong Kong and its Governor. Dependencies, with all the powers, rights, privileges and advantages to the said Office belonging or appertaining.

II. And We do hereby authorize, empower, and com- Powers, &c., mand you to exercise and perform all and singular the Letters powers and directions contained in certain Letters Patent Patent. under the Great Seal, constituting the Office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Our said Colony and its Dependencies, bearing date at Westminster the Fourteenth day of February, 1917, or in any other Letters Patent adding to, amending, or substituted for the same, according to such Orders and Instructions as Our said Governor and Commander-in- Chief for the time being hath already received, and to such further Orders and Instructions as you may hereafter receive from Us.

III. And further We do hereby appoint that, so soon Commission as you shall have taken the prescribed Oaths and have entered upon the duties of your Office, this Our present Commission superseded. shall supersede the Commission under Our Sign Manual and Signet, bearing date the Twenty-fourth day of June, 1937, appointing Our Trusty and Well-beloved Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, to be Our Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Our said Colony and its Dependencies.
