COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor amends regulation 75 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, published in the Gazette Extraordinary of 25th June, 1940, as Government Notification 709 and appearing on page 75 of the volume of Hong Kong War Emergency Legislation, by the addition of the word “ or" at the end of paragraph (2) thereof and by inserting after the said paragraph (2) the following-

(3) in any application for a licence, permit or authoriza- tion required by any of these regulations or any order made under any of these regulations, makes such a statement or furnishes any such information as aforesaid, or describes any goods incorrectly, insufficiently or in such a manner as to conceal or disguise the true nature or purpose thereof,

ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve, with effect from 2nd September, 1941-

Petrovsky, Constantine Constantinovich Wright, William
