In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Connell, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor makes the following regulations-
The Defence (Enemy Currency) Regulations,
1941.
1. These regulations may be cited as the Defence (Enemy Currency) Regulations, 1941.
2. The Governor, if it appears to him that currency is being transmitted for the benefit of enemies from foreign countries to other countries outside this Colony may by order provide for seizure in transit of any currency so transmitted, for forfeiture to the Crown of any currency so seized and for disposal thereof in accordance with directions of the Governor.
3. Where, in any proceedings for recovery of any currency or otherwise in respect of the detention or conver- sion thereof, it is certified by the Financial Secretary on behalf of the Governor that that currency was seized by virtue of an order under these regulations, it shall lie upon the claimant to prove that at the time of the seizure of the currency it was not in transit between a foreign country and any other country outside this Colony or was not being transmitted for the benefit of an enemy.
4.-(1) In these regulations and any order made there- under-

means, subject to the provisions of this
(a) coins, gold or silver bullion, bank notes and other paper money;
(b) postal orders and money orders;
(e) bonds, debentures and any documents of title relating
to stocks, shares or debenture stocks:
(d) warrants, coupons and vouchers whereunder any interest or dividend is payable;

enemy means an enemy for the purpose of the Ordinance Trading with the Enemy Ordinance, 1914, as amended by 1914. any defence regulation for the time being in force.
(2) The Governor may by order direct that such docu- ments as may be specified in the order, being documents capable of being used as a medium of exchange other than those mentioned in the foregoing definition of currency shall be deemed to be currency for the purpose of these regulations and any order thereunder.
