No. 858.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased under the powers con- ferred by section 8 (1) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, No. 32 of 1939, to appoint The Honourable Mr. ANDREW LUSK SHIELDS to be a member of the Appeal Tribunal during the temporary absence from the Colony of Mr. STANLEY HUDSON DODWELL.

With refence to Government Notification No. 203 of 21st February, 1941, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Honourable Mr. ANDREW LUSK SHIELDS to act as a Member of the Advisory Committee set up for the purposes of Regulation 18 of the Colonial Defence Regulations published as Govern- ment Notification No. 131 of 4th February, 1941, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. STANLEY HUDSON Dodwell.

Government Notification 656 appointing Mr. FREDERICK FLIPPANCE, F.L.S., to be Controller of Firewood and Govern- ment Notification 659 on the delegation to him by the Stores Controller of powers relating to firewood under regulation 50 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, both published in the Gazette of 30th May, 1941, are hereby cancelled.
