NOTICES.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

It is hereby notified that, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 22 of the Blackout Order, 1940, published in the Gazette of 16th August, 1940, as Government Notification 920, His Excellency the Governor declares that the period from sunset on Monday, 21st July, 1941, until sunrise on Thursday, 24th July, 1941, shall be an occasion of experiment or practice for an occasion of emergency or public danger, during which the said order shall be in force in every district in this Colony: Provided that the said period may be extended by further order until sun- rise on Sunday, 27th July, 1941, or until such earlier time as may be specified in the order.

Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 37 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, His Excellency the Governor makes the following order-

1. During the hours of darkness from sunset on 21st July, 1941, until sunrise on 24th July, 1941, or until such later date as may be notified as an extension of the blackout exercise declared by Government Notification 834 published in the Gazette of 11th July, 1941, the harbour will be closed to the ingress and egress of shipping and no move- ments of shipping or other craft will be permitted, except that a restricted ferry service may be maintained by the Star Ferry Company, Limited, and the Hong Kong and Yaumati Ferry Company, Limited, between Hong Kong and Kowloon.

2. Except during the period between the sounding of an air raid warning and the sounding of the RAIDERS PASSED signal, ferry vessels so employed will carry and show the prescribed navigation lights but with their visibility reduced to the satisfaction of the Harbour Master.
