His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit SVEN ERIK FABER to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve, with effect from 16th June, 1941.

of certain medical practi- tioners.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor makes the follow- ing regulation which shall be inserted in and shall form part of the Defence Regulations, 1940, published as Government Notification 709 in the Gazette Extraordinary of 25th June, 1940, as subsequently amended—

66A. (1) Where, on the application of any person registration entitled by virtue of any enactment to practise medicine, surgery and midwifery in any part of His Majesty's dominions or in any foreign country, it is shown to the satisfaction of the Medical Board that that person fulfils such conditions as to nationality, character, professional qualifications and other- wise as the Board with the consent of the Governor may pre- scribe, the Board may, if it thinks fit, direct that he shall be registered in the medical register as a temporary practi- tioner, and on the direction being given that person shall be registered accordingly, and the provisions of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1935, shall as far as may be apply in relation to persons registered by virtue of this regulation as they apply to persons registered under that Ordinance :

Ordinance No. 41 of 1935.

Provided that, without prejudice to the provisions of the said Ordinance relating to the erasure of names from the register, a person registered by virtue of this regulation shall cease to be registered on the revocation or expiration thereof.

(2) In this regulation "Medical Board" means the board established under section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordin- ance, 1935.
