6. Upon receipt of provisional approval as described in paragraph 5, the Hong Kong importer should proceed to place his order with his usual agent or supplier in the United Kingdom informing the agent or supplier of the number of the Hong Kong Import Supply Licence. The Secretary of State will also be informed by the Hong Kong Government of the issue of the provisional licence. The importer's correspondent in the United Kingdom will then make his application to the Colonial Office quoting the number of the Hong Kong licence, and indicating as precisely as possible the purpose for which the material is required. If the application is approved by the authorities in the United King- dom they will inform the importer's correspondent of the source of supply from which the goods will be obtainable.
7. Orders which have already been placed with American suppliers and are now in course of manufacture in the United States will not be affected by these regulations. Import licences must, however, be applied for. New orders, how- ever, may not be placed direct in the United States but will all be referred to the authorities in the United Kingdom.
