ORDINANCE No. 9 of 1927.
PROTECTION).
WHEREAS it is provided by section 2 of the Public Revenue Protection Ordinance, 1927, that if the Governor approves of the introduction into the Legislative Council of a bill or resolution whereby any duty, tax, fee, rate or other item of revenue would be imposed or altered if such bill or resolution were to become law, it shall be lawful for the Governor to make an order giving the full force and effect of the law to all the provisions of such bill or resolution as long as such order remains in force:
AND WHEREAS I. Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same, have approved the introduction into the Legislative Council of the resolution hereto annexed:
AND WHEREAS certain duties would be imposed on toilet preparations and would become the duties on toilet prepara- tions appearing in such resolution if the same became law:
Now I, the said Governor, under the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Public Revenue Protection Ordinance, 1927, as interpreted by section 39-A of the Interpretation Ordinance, 1911, do hereby make this order giving full force and effect to the provisions of such resolution as from 2 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, the 10th day of April, 1941, for so long as this order remains in force.
