In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor amends the Defence Regulations, 1940, published in the Gazette Extraordinary of 25th June, 1940, by adding to the definition of essential services" in regulation 2 (1) thereof the words "and includes performance of its functions by any trade or industry".
