Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 55 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, as amended in Govern- ment Notification No. 805 in the Gazette Extraordinary of the 18th July, 1940, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government in the interests of public safety, defence, the efficient prosecution of the war and for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community doth hereby order and direct as follows—

The Schedule to the Order made under the above- mentioned regulation 55 and published in the Gazette Extraordinary of 22nd July, 1940, as Government Notification 836 and subsequently amended by Government Notification 31 of 9th January, 1941, is hereby further amended by the addition at the end thereof of, in the first column, the title "Controller of Food" and, in the second column, "Food, namely every article or substance used for food or drink, other than drugs, and also every living thing capable of being consumed as food."

ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Com- pulsory Service Ordinance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve :--

Wild, Richard Henry, with effect from 28th February,

1941.

Maher, Thomas Stephens, with effect from 1st March,

1941.

Agabeg, Eric Robert, with effect from 4th March, 1941.

6th March, 1941.
