COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

It is hereby notified that IIis Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint a Food and Firewood Control Board to advise him in matters concerning these two commodities, and has also been pleased to direct that a competent authority appointed for the purposes of regulation 50 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, shall in such matters exercise his powers and functions only in accord- ance with the recommendations of that Board.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint the following persons to be members of the Food and Firewood Control Board :-

Brigadier ANDREW PEFFERS, O.B.E., (Chairman),

Paymaster Commander CECIL STANHOPE BLAIR HICKMAN,

R.N.,

Mr. DAVID LOCKE NEWBIGGING,

Mr. WILLIAM JOHN ANDERSON :

--and to direct that three members of the Board shall be a quorum and that, in the event of equality of votes, the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.
