MOTIONS.

7. Places of Public Entertainment Regulation Amendment Bill.-The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the First reading of a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Places of Public Entertainment Regulation Ordinance, 1919.”

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a first time.

8. Entertainments Tax Amendment Bill.—The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the First reading of a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Entertainments Tax Ordinance, 1930."

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a first time.

9. Holidays Amendment Bill.-The Attorney General moved the Second reading of a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Holidays Ordinance, 1912.” The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a second time.

Council in Committee on the Bill.

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed through Committee without amendment, and moved that it be read a third time.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a third time and passed.

10. The Financial Secretary addressed the Council and moved the following

resolution :-

That the draft estimates of expenditure for 1941-42 be approved.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

The Honourable Mr. JoHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON addressed the Council and moved an amendment to the Resolution, that the draft estimates be referred, for consideration in detail, to a Select Committee consisting of the Colonial Secretary, the Financial Secretary and all Unofficial Members.

The Honourable Mr. Lo MAN-KAM addressed the Council and seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

ADJOURNMENT.

11. The Council then adjourned sine die.
