LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
No. 4. His Majesty the KING has not been advised to exercise his power of disallowance with respect to the following Ordinance :-
Ordinance No. 26 of 1940.---An Ordinance to authorize the Appropriation of a Supplementary sum of two million four hundred and eighty-four thousand nine hundred and ninety-one dollars and forty-seven cents to defray the charges of the year 1939 and also to appropriate a sum of eighty thousand three hundred and thirty-one dollars and twenty-five cents from the Waterworks Renewals and Improvements Fund in the said year.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.
No. 5.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. GEORGE STACY KENNEDY-SKIPTON to be Cadet Officer, Class I, with effect from 1st January, 1940.

No. 6. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, under the provisions of Statute 4 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to nominate Mr. LEONARD JOHN DAVIES as a Member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong for a period of three years, with effect from 27th December, 1940.

No. 7.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, under the provisions of Statute 4 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to nominate the following as Members of the Court of the University of Hong Kong for a further period of three years, with effect from the 1st January, 1941 :-
