6. The Purchaser of the Lot shall have the right at his own cost and expense to cut and construct upon the Crown Land immediately adjoining his Lot, and at such points as may be approved by the Land Officer, such channels or drains as may be in the opinion of the Land Officer necessary for the diversion from the said Lot of any streams of fresh water whether perpetual or periodic.

No. S. 393. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for construction of Motor Launch", stating time in which launch can be com- pleted, with plans and specifications, will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office not later than Noon of Friday, the 22nd instant, for the construction and equipment fit and ready for use of a teak wood motor launch of the following dimensions :—

Length overall 40 feet. Breadth extreme 8 feet. Depth moulded 4 feet.

Draft aft not to exceed 3 feet.

The launch to have a substantial whale back forward and aft and to be supplied and fitted with an awning of Baxter's No. 1 canvas, regulation lights, bell, whistle or equivalent, suitable anchor and chain, steering wheel forward, and necessary lockers, etc., also suitable fuel tanks sufficient for 24 hours continuous running. The propelling machinery to consist of a 30-40 H. P. Heavy Type 4 Cylinder Kelvin Motor and to be fitted on board with all the necessary connections, suitable bronze propeller, extra heavy shafting, and usual spare parts and outfit. After completion the launch will be required to run a series of satisfactory

trials.

The work to be executed to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY.

No. S. 394.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Miscellaneous Stores for the Kowloon-Canton Railway", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 16th December, 1912, for the supply of Miscellaneous Stores for the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section) from 1st January, 1913, to 31st December, 1913.

The price quoted to include free delivery at the Railway Stores at Hung Hom.

No tender will be received unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender, if accepted.

For such articles as are not sufficiently defined by the brand or maker's name, the tenderer must supply samples or specify the brand and quality he is prepared to supply.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract in the usual form of Government Contracts and to give security for the sum of $500 in a bond with two sure- ties conditional for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such enotract.

The Manager does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender and reserves the right to accept the whole or part of any tender. Tenderers may therefore quote for a part or whole of the items required.
