THE following translation is published for general information:--

Translation.

On the 1st to 14th April, the lighting of Petropaulovsk lighthouse and valvular

lights has been commenced.

On the 6th to 19th April, the lighting of Jonquiere and Clostersauys Lighthouse

with De Castriu valvular lights has been commenced.

CHINA SEA.

TARGET BUOYS OFF WEIHAIWEI

THE appended Notification, issued by the British Naval Authorities, concerning the mooring, during the summer months, of Target Buoys off Weihaiwei, is published for general information.

SHANGHAI, 1st May, 1912.

During the months of June, July, and August a number of Buoys will be laid down off Weihaiwei, for target purposes, with chain moorings. The Buoys will be moored within a circle of 12 cables radius, the centre of which will be situated N.N.E., 4 miles from Chao- peitsui Lighthouse.

Vessels are requested to pass to northward or southward of this area.

TRANSLATION.

Notification No. 403 of Department of Communications.

NOTICE is hereby given that, as a signal to the lightkeepers' dwelling at Yobuko, Higa- shi-Matsuura, Hizen province, the undermentioned light will be shown sometimes from Yeboshi-jina Lighthouse at the east entrance to Ikisuido:-

Colour of light:-Red or green.

Illuminated arc:-Over an are of 3° between the bearings of N. 30° E. and N. 33°

E. (The magnetic bearings taken from seaward.)

Period:-8-8.30 p.m., during the 8 months of January to April and September

to December.

9-9.30 p.m., during the 4 months of May to August.
