Application for Registration of Trade Marks.
"OTICE is hereby given that CRUZ, BASTO AND COMPANY of Prince's Building, Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, have on the 8th day of January, 1912. applied for the registration, in Hongkong, in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Marks, namely:-
"Well Brand.- Picture of a with a
Chinese woman lowering r bucket from a cross-beam over the well and the words "* Well Brand" below it. Sugar Cane Brand.-Picture of 2 large
and 1 small Sugar Cane Plants. Rice Bird Brand -- Picture of rice plants and shoots with 4 flying rice birds and the words · Rice Bird" Flour above.
Egg Brand-Profile of a large egg with the words "Egg Brand" below it.- (N.B.-In this trade mark the appli- cants undertake not to use the device in the colours red or yellow.) Mulberry Tree Brand.-A forked-branch
of mulberry with leaves, berries and silk worms, and below the words
Mulberry Tree Brand ". Football Brand. - Picture of a man kick- ing a football with the word " Foot- ball" below it.
Seal Brand-Picture of a Seal lying on a foreshore with the words " Super- fine Quality immediately under- neath and Seal Brand " below. Guld Leaf-Picture representing a piece of gold plate with one corner folded over, and above the words "Gold Leaf".
Bridge Brand -- Picture of a
Chinese
arched bridge with steps at both ends, and the words "Blue Bridge Brand" below.
Teen Kau Brand.-Large representation
of 2 Chinese playing cards showing a 12-aud a 9-spot, with the words *Teen Kau" above and "Flour" below them",
in the name of the said CRUZ, BASTO AND COMPANY, who claim to be the proprietors thereof.
The above described Trade Marks have been used by the Applicants since 1907 in respect of the following goods in the following class namely:-
Flour, in Class 42.
Representations of the said Trade Marks are deposited for inspection in the Office of the Registrar of Trade Marks and also at the Office of the undersigned.

CHAN Fin (號棧公) of No.
126 Des Voeux Road Central, Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, Merchants, have on the 13th day of September 1910 and on the 21st day of October 1910 respectively applied for the registration in Hongkong in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Marks :-
1. The representation of an ornamental oval mirror in its frame on which appears a scroll with the following
Chinese characters “城省東粤
識謹人主棧公” menning
Respectfully recorded by the pro- prietors of the KUNG CHAN Firm. Canton, Kwong Tung Province."
2. The representation of a Chinese my- thical bear with two tails, and with its head looking upwards to a flying dove the representation of the bear and bird being enclosed in a circular ornamental border with the Chinese " meaning The KUNG CHAN Firm on the top thereof, the words Hero Brand in the blank space between the bird and the bear, and a scroll below the
characters "號棧公

A) who claim to be the proprio-

The Trade Marks have not hitherto been used by the applicants in respect of Tobacco in Class 45 but it is their intention so to use it forthwith.

NOTICE is hereby given that The ASIATIC
PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED car- rying on business at Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong and elsewhere as Oil Merchants and Refiners have on the 14th day of Decein- ber. 1911, applied for the registration in Hongkong in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Mark :--
The representation of a Swan swimming by some rushes in the water-above the said representation appear the wordsSwan Brand ". The whole encircled by a fancy border,
in the name of The ASIATIC PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED who claim to be the pro- prietors thereof.
The said Trade Mark has not hitherto been used by the Applicants but it is their inten- tion so to use it forthwith in respect of the following goods:-
Petroleum and Petroleumi
Products;
Candles, Common Soap, Detergents; Illuminating, Heating, or Lubricat- ing Oils; Matches, and starch, blue and other preparations for laundry purposes, in tlass 47.
