18.-(1) The master of every such British ship shall, Production within twenty-four hours after his arrival at the port of of emigration destination and at any port of call, produce" his emigration papers at papers to the British Consul, if any, at such port, or if port of such port is in His Majesty's dominions, then the master of such ship shall produc: the said papers to any officer appointed or authorized by the local Government in that behalf.
(2.) It shall be lawful for such Consul or other officer to enter and inspect such ship, and in case the master obstructs or refuses to assist him in the discharge of such duty, or without reasonable canse fail, to produce his emi- gration papers as aforesaid, he shall be liable to a fine of five hundred dollars, and the ship may be detained by the British Consul, or, if in His Majesty's dominions, by the local Government, until such time has been paid and the emigration papers have been given up.
19. In all ports and places where no Emigration Officer British Con- has been appointed, the British Consul shall, until such sul deemed appointment and at all times during the vacancy of such Emigration office, be deemed to be the Emigration Officer for the purposes of these Regulations.

(7.) that all the conditions and requirements of the said Ordinance
have been duly complied with;
(8.) that the aforesaid passengers [or, in case of a part only, state the number, are emigrants under contracts of service, and that I have inspected the contracts between them and their intended " employers (the terms of which are annexed to this certificate) and consider them reasonable; and that no fraud appears to have been practised in collecting such emigrants;
(9.) that the intending passengers who are females or males under the age of sixteen years have been passed by the Registrar General; and
(10.) that the master of the ship is to put into
water and fresh vegetables.

N.B. Where none of the passengers are emigrants under contracts of service, the following paragraph shall be substituted for paragraph 8:
