A BILL
ENTITLED
An Ordinance to amend the law relating to Dan-
gerous Goods.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Dangerous Short title. Goods Amendment Ordinance, 1912.

Objects and Reasons.
It has been considered desirable to make imprisonment part of the penalty for offences against section 10 (5) of the Dangerous Goods Ordinauce. The only words in the new sub-section which are new are "addition thereto such person shall be liable on summary conviction to imprison- ment for any period not exceeding six months and in
further".

tion, Ordinance, 1900.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Arms and Am- Short title. munition Amendment Ordinance, 1912.
2. Section 28 of the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, Amends 1900, is hereby amended by—

(a.) the deletion of the words ", in default of pay No. 2 of

Objects and Reasons.
It has been deemed desirable in the case of offences against the principal Ordinance that the power of the Magistrates to imprison should not be confined to cases where the offender is unable to pay a fine.
