No. S. 36. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders which should be clearly marked "Tenders for Repairs to No. 1 Police Launch" will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the 9th instant, for the supplying and fitting of a new gun- metal propeller (5′ 9′′ diam.) and mild steel shaft similar in dimensions to those at present on the No. 1 Police Launch.
Allowance to be made in the tender for the old propeller and shaft.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The work to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor.

Signals made by Light-vessels when out of position.
NOTICE is hereby given that, from the 15th February, 1912, the following uniform system of signals to indicate that a Light-vessel is out of position will become operative as regards all Light-vessels of the Chinese Service:
By day: --a red flag hoisted at the masthead or yard-arm.
By night-the usual light discontinued, and a red light exhibited from each end
of the vessel.
In the case of a Light-vessel whose usual light is red, or red and white, a white light instead of a red light will be exhibited from each end of the vessel.
