NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

Machine gun firing will be carried out from the western shore of Stonecutters Island between the hours of 6.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 30th November, 1937.

Firing Area "E" will be affected.

In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the Firing Area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the Firing Area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

No. S. 399.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Improvement of Road to Sha Tin Pass", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 30th day of November, 1937. The Contract comprises the surfacing of the road between Chuk Yuen and Sha Tin Pass with 6" cement concrete together with any necessary widening and other con- tigent works.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

The successful contractor will be required to deposit the sum of $2,500 (Dollars two thousand five hundred) as security for the due and proper performance of the work.
