NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE

DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

Machine gun firing will be carried out from the western shore of Stonecutters Island, between the hours of 7 p.m. and midnight, on the 17th August, 1937. Firing Area "E" will be affected.

If, for any reason, firing cannot be carried out on this date, it will take place on the 19th August at the same time.

Coast defence firing practice will be carried out from Pakshawan Battery, between the hours of 5.30 p.m. and midnight, on the 19th August, 1937. Firing Area "A" will be affected.

In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the Firing Area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the Firing Area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
