No. S. 218.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Tai Lam Chung Bridge", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 17th day of August, 1937. The work comprises the construction of a bridge 220' long at Tai Lam Chung, N.T., divert- ing the road and streamcourse and demolishing the existing bridge, together with all necessary contingent work.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

The successful tenderer will be required to deposit the sum of $5,000 for the due and faithful performance of the work.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE

DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

Firing practice will be carried out from Stonecutters West Battery, Stonecutters Island, between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight, on 5th August, 1937. Firing Area "E" will be affected.

In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordi- nance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the Firing Area affected or by consenting to be towed out of the Firing Area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authori- ties.

No. S. 198.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked Tender for Piling to Central Government Stores, North Point will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 3rd day of August, 1937. The work consists of driving reinforced concrete piles for foundations to two storied R.C.C. framed Building.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,000 with the Colonial Treasury.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.
