The Colonial Secretary replied as follows:--

MOTION.

5. Appropriation Bill for 1938.--Debate continued on Second Reading.

The Colonial Secretary and His Excellency the Officer Administering the Govern-

ment addressed the Council.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a second time.

Council in Committee on the Bill.

On Council resuming, the Colonial Secretary reported that the Bill had passed through Committee with immaterial amendments, and moved that it be read a third time.

The Financial Secretary and Colonial Treasurer seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a third time and passed.

6. The Hon. Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Kt., K.C., addressed the Council paying tribute to the Administration of His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government during his tenure of office.

The Hon. Mr. CHAU TSUN-NIN supported the remarks of the Senior Unofficial

Member.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government thanked the Members

of Council for their remarks.

ADJOURNMENT.

6. The Council then adjourned sine die.
