No. 487.-It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government, under instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to make the following appointment :-
Mr. SYDNEY CAINE to be Financial Secretary and Colonial Treasurer, Collector of Stamp Revenue, and Assessor of Rates, and to be the Commissioner to carry out the provisions of the Estate Duty Ordinance, 1932, with effect from 16th July, 1937.

No. 488.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. WILLIAM JAMES CARRIE to be Senior Assistant Colonial Treasurer and Assistant Collector of Stamp Duty, with effect from 16th July, 1937.

No. 489.-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the provisional appointment of the Honourable Commander JOSEPH BERNARD NEWILL, D.S.O., R.N., (Retired), to be temporarily an Official Member of the Legislative Council in the place of Commander GEORGE FRANCIS HOLE, R.N., (Retired), who is temporarily absent from the Colony, with effect from 7th April, 1937.

No. 490.- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to appoint JAMES THORNTON SMALLEY, M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), to act as Director of Medical Services, with effect from 21st July, 1937.
