ORDINANCE No. 21 of 1932. (PENSIONS).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 (1) of the Pensions Ordinance, 1932, as enacted by the Pensions Amendment Ordinance, 1934, and with the sanction of the Secretary of State, the Governor in Council amends Pension

Secretary A and Pension Regulations B, set forth respective-

ly in Government Notifications Nos. 774 and 775, of 1932 as amended by Government Notifications No. 761 of 1934, No. 689 of 1935 and Nos. 84, 688, 742, 862, and 927 of 1936, as follows:-

Amendments.

In Pension Regulations A and in Pension Regulations B,-

(1) Regulation 8 is revoked and the following regulation is substituted therefor:-

8. Only service in a pensionable office shall be taken into account as pensionable service: Provided that, where a period of service in a civil capacity otherwise than in a pensionable office is immediately followed by service in a pensionable office, one half of such period may with the approval of the Governor in Council be so taken into account : and provided further that where it would be to the officer's advantage to make separate awards under these Pension Regulations and under Pension Regulations C in respect of his service in a pensionable and a non pensionable office. respectively, such awards may be made and only service in a pensionable office is to be taken into account for the purpose ...of the award under these Regulations.

(2) In regulation 25 (as amended by Government Notification No. 761 of 1934) the figure "8," is inserted between the figure "7," and the figure "9,".

(3) Regulation 26 (3) (as enacted by Government. Notification No. 761 of 1934) is amended by the insertion of the following proviso between the two existing provisoes thereto :-

And provided that where under regulation 8 one half only of any service in a civil capacity otherwise than in a pensionable office is taken into account as pensionable service, one half only of the officer's aggregate emoluments during that service shall be taken into account for the calculation aforesaid.
