2. The following regulation is inserted, as regulation 70A, under the heading "Drivers of motor vehicles", immediately after regulation 70:-

70A. No person shall drive a motor vehicle on a road or street in any built-up area at a speed exceeding thirty miles per hour.

For the purposes of this regulation the areas in the follow- ing table shall be built-up areas :

TABLE.

1. The City of Victoria, as defined in section 39B (5) of the

Interpretation Ordinance, 1911.

2. Kowloon, as defined in section 39B (2) of the Interpretation.

Ordinance, 1911.

3. New Kowloon, as defined in section 39B (3) of the Inter-

pretation Ordinance, 1911.

This regulation shall not apply to any vehicle on an occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes, if the observance thereof would be likely to hinder the use of the vehicle for the purpose for which it is being used on that occasion.

3. The following regulation is inserted, as regulation 163A, under the heading "Bells and horns", immediately after regulation 163:—

163A. Notwithstanding anything contained in these regulations, no person shall sound any instrument fitted to any vehicle or tramcar for signalling its approach by sound between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m., on any road or street in any silent area.

For the purposes of this regulation the areas in the following table shall be silent areas :-
