No. 44. It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor, under instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to make the following appointment:—
Miss DORIS HANNAH STOCKFORD to be a Nursing Sister, with effect from the 7th
January, 1937.

No. 45.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. LEO D'ALMADA E CASTRO, Junior, to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice Mr. JoSÉ PEDRO BRAGA, O.B.E., with effect from 17th January, 1937.

No. 46. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Dr. LI SHU-FAN to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice Mr. Ts'o SEEN-WAN, C.B.E., LL.D., with effect from 17th January, 1937.

No. 47.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotions in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 22nd January, 1937 :-
Lance Sergeant JOHN WATSON to be Second Lieutenant.
Bombardier George FrederICK REES to be Second Lieutenant.
