The Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, Ordinance No. 10
of 1899, Table L, Quarantine Regulations.
It is hereby declared by order of His Excellency the Governor in Council that Pakhoi is a place at which an infectious or contagious disease, namely, small-pox, prevails.

No. 1003.-His Majesty the KING has not been advised to exercise his power of disallowance with respect to the following Ordinances :—
Ordinance No. 36 of 1936.-An Ordinance to amend the law relating to stamp
duty.
Ordinance No. 42 of 1936.—An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding Twenty-five million five hundred and eight thousand two hundred and sixty-nine Dollars to the Public Service of the year 1937.

No. 1004.-It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor, in virtue of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of Ordinance No. 51 of 1936, has appointed Mr. JOHN ALEXANDER FRASER, M.C., Barrister-at-law, Middle Temple, of His Majesty's Civil Service, Hong Kong, to be editor of the new edition of the Ordinances of the Colony, to be known as "The Ordinances of Hong Kong (1937 edition)", and to be editor of the new edition of the Regulations of the Colony, to be known as "The Regu- lations of Hong Kong (1937 edition)".
