THE HONG KONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, DECEMBER 18, 1936.

3. His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council and moved the following

Resolution:-

"We the Members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, assembled for the first time since the accession of our King GEORGE VI, desire on behalf of ourselves and the whole people of this Colony to tender our humble duty, loyal devotion and affectionate homage to His Most Gracious Majesty and pray with one heart and voice that His reign over us may be long, happy, peaceful and glorious. GOD SAVE THE KING."

Sir HENRY POLLOCK, Senior Unofficial Member seconded the Resolution. Mr. T'so SEEN-WAN, Senior Chinese Member, supported the Resolution. The Resolution was unanimously adopted.

4. His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council regarding arrangements for the observance of His Majesty's Birthday, on the 14th December, 1936, which, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 5 of 1912, would be a General Holiday.

5. The Council then adjourned until the date to which it already stands prorogued.

Ordinance No. 52 of 1936.-An Ordinance to amend the Cremation Ordinance,

1934.
