No. 645.-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Honourable Mr. JOHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council for a period of five years, vice Sir WILLIAM EDWARD LEONARD SHENTON, resigned, with effect from 6th April, 1936.

No. 646.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. ARThur William HUGHES to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice Mr. WILLIAM HENRY BELL, resigned, with effect from 28th July, 1936.

No. 647.-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Honourable Mr. STANLEY HUDSON DODWELL to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice Sir WILLIAM EDWARD LEONARD SHENTON, resigned, with effect from 6th April, 1936.

No. 648.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotions in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps with effect from 18th July, 1936:-

Lance Sergeant SAMUEL VICTOR GITTINS to be Second Lieutenant.

Lance Sergeant EDWIN JOHNSFORD MACOMBER CHURN to be Second Lieutenant.

No. 649.-The following Order is published for general information :-

In accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Unclaimed Balances Ordinance, 1929, His Excellency the Governor hereby directs that the sum of money, particulars of which appear hereunder, shall be transferred to the general revenue of the Colony. This transfer is subject to the provisions contained in the said Ordinance as to refunds.
