For the survey of a lifeboat undergoing heavy repairs involving re-certification the same fee is to be charged.
These fees cover the issue to the applicant of a report of inspection of the boats only and, in the case of a passenger ship, are in addition to the fee for survey for a passenger certificate. If the boats are supplied to a cargo ship and a subsequent inspection of the whole of the life- saving appliances is made under paragraph (a) only the balance of the fees under that paragraph is to be charged.
(f) On application being made for survey during con- struction at the makers works, and certification, of a buoyant apparatus intended to form part of the life-saving appliances of a passenger ship a fee of $3 per unit with a minimum fee of $30 is to be charged.
This fee covers the issue to the applicants of a report of the inspection of the buoyant apparatus only, and is in addition to the usual fee for survey for a passenger certificate.
(g) For the inspection and stamping of life-jackets at the makers works, an inclusive fee of 8 cents for each life- jacket is to be charged, but the minimum fee for the attend- ance of a Surveyor is $22.50, i.e., the fee for the inspection and stamping of 300 life-jackets.
(h) For the inspection and stamping of life-buoys at the makers works, an inclusive fee of 38 cents for each life-buoy is to be charged, with a minimum fee of $7.50.
(j) Boats' davits intended for stock purposes may be inspected and the material tested at the makers works pro- vided an application is made and a fee of $15 is paid for each set of davits to be inspected. If the davits are sub- sequently supplied to a ship during survey for a passenger certificate the fee paid will be returned to the makers.
(k) For the examination of the design of the life-saving appliance, and the inspection of the first appliance made to that design, the following fees are to be charged :-
