1. The Council met pursuant to summons. His Excellency the Governor
occupied the Chair.

OATH.
2. Dr. WILLIAM BROWNLOW ASHE MOORE, O.B.E., (Acting Director of Medical and Sanitary Services) took the Oath of Allegiance and assumed his seat as a Member of the Council.
3. His Honour the Acting Chief Justice, Mr. JAMES JOSEPH HAYDEN and the Honour- able Sir SHOU-SON CHOW, Kt., LL.D., Member of the Executive Council, were present at the invitation of His Excellency the Governor.
MOTION.
4. His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council and moved the following
Resolution :
"That the Members of this Council, having heard with profound sorrow the sad announcement of the death of His late Majesty King George the Fifth, desire to tender their humble duty and on behalf of the people of this Colony of Hong Kong to express the most heartfelt, loyal and respectful sympathy with Her Majesty Queen Mary, His Majesty the King and all the Royal Family in their bereavement."
