With reference to Government Notification No. 769 published in the Gazette of the 4th October, 1935, and to Government Notification No. 955 published in the Gazette of the 6th December, 1935, it is hereby notified that the Argentine Republic has acceded to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1929, and also that the said Convention has been extended to the Italian Colonies of Libia, Eritrea and Somaliland and to the Italian islands of the Ægean.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
It is hereby notified that by an Agreement between His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom and the Govern- ment of Finland signed at Helsingfors on the 3rd May, 1935, and by and Exchange of Notes between His Majesty's Govern- ment in the United Kingdom and the German Government made at Berlin on the 7th June, 1935, the Government of the United Kingdom, being satisfied that provision has been made by the Finnish Government and by the German Government for the application of the provisions of the International Load Line Convention, 1930, to non-Convention ships, similarly agree that the certificates issued by or under the authority of the Finnish Government to Finnish non-Convention ships certifying that the load lines shown on the certificates have been assigned in accordance with the provisions of the Con- vention, and that the certificates issued by or under the authority of the German Government to German non-Conven- tion ships certifying that the load lines shown on the certificates have been assigned in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation regarding the load lines of merchant vessels of the 25th December, 1932, (Reichs Gesetz Blatt, 1932, Teil II, s. 278), shall in the ports of the United Kingdom, or of any British Colony or Protectorate, or of any mandated territory in respect of which a mandate is exercised by the Government of the United Kingdom, have the same effect as the load line certificates issued by or under the authority of the Govern- ment of the United Kingdom.
