Regulations as to the grant, forfeiture, restoration and other matters concerning the Colonial Police and Fire Brigades Long Service Medal issued by the Governor with the approval of the Secretary of State for the Colonies pursuant to the Royal Warrant dated the 23rd March, 1934.

THE COLONIAL POLICE AND FIRE BRIGADES LONG SERVICE MEDAL.
HONG KONG.
1. The Colonial Police and Fire Brigades Long Service Medal will be granted as a reward for long service and good conduct to constables and subordinate officers below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of the Police Force of Hong Kong who on or after the 23rd day of March, 1934, shall have completed not less than eighteen years' continuous service as hereinafter defined.
This Medal will carry with it the grant of an allowance of $60 per annum.
On the completion of twenty-five years continuous service the allowance granted will be increased to $90 per annum and on the completion of thirty years continuous service the allowance granted will be increased to $120 per annum.
The allowance is non-pensionable and terminates on cessation of service or on forfeiture of medal.
2. For the purpose of these Regulations service will only be reckoned as qualifying service provided that the person recommended for the grant of the Medal is in possession of an exemplary character.
Exemplary character means either a clear record or an average of not more than two black marks for each year of service under the Police mark system, black marks cancelled be red marks under such system being disregarded, always provided that no grave offence has been committed by the person concerned during the last five years.
3.-(a) Qualifying service in the Civil Police Forces of other Colonies or territories under His Majesty's protection may be allowed to reckon towards the required period of qualifying service provided that the total period of such service amounts to not less than eighteen years: provided, however, that where service has been rendered in more than one such territory as aforesaid an interval not exceeding twelve months between any two periods of service shall not
