No. 7.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. THOMAS STODART WHYTE-SMITH to be Land Officer, with effect from 3rd January, 1936.

No. 8.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JOHN BERNARD PRENTIS to act as a Deputy Registrar of Marriages in addition to his other duties, with effect from 30th December, 1935.

No. 9.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ROLAND ARTHUR CHARLES NORTH to be an Assistant to the Secretary for Chinese Affairs, with effect from the 1st January, 1936.

No. 10.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 4 of the Education Ordinance, 1913, Ordinance No. 26 of 1913, Mr. ERNEST JAMES EDWARDS to act as Inspector of English Schools, vice Mr. ALAN OERTON BRAWN on leave prior to retirement, with effect from the 1st January, 1936.

No. 11.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 4 of the Midwives Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 22 of 1910, to appoint Dr. WILLIAM CHARLES WALLACE NIXON to be a Member of the Midwives Board for a term of three years, with effect from 30th December, 1935.

No. 12.-Pursuant to the provisions of sub-section (9) of section 3 of the Urban Council Ordinance, 1935, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. LI SHU FAN, M.B., Ch. B., D.T.M. and H., F.R.C.S. (Edin.) and Mr. ABBAS EL ARCULLI to be two of the additional members of the Urban Council.

No. 13. The King's Exequatur empowering Monsieur SoULANGE R. TEISSIER to act as French Consul at Hong Kong, has received His Majesty's signature.

No. 14. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Sub-Inspector WILLIAM RITCHIE to be an Examiner of Weights and Measures under the Weights and Measures Ordinance, 1885, section 4, and also an Inspector under the Gunpowder and Fireworks Ordinance, 1901, section 14, with effect from the 1st January, 1936.
