NOTICE is hereby given that The ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION and The ST. JOHN

AMBULANCE BRIGADE OVERSEAS intend at an early date to apply to the Legislative Council of the Colony of Hong Kong for the enactment of a Bill intituled "An Ordinance to further and protect the activities in Hong Kong of the ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIA- TION and the ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE OVERSEAS and to incorporate the Director for the time being of the Ambulance Department of the Order of St. John in Hong Kong and the Treasurer and Secretary for the time being of the Hong Kong Branch of the ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION as Custodian Trustees.

A copy of the proposed Bill is printed hereunder.

An Ordinance to further and protect the activities in Hong Kong of the St. John Ambulance Association and the St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas and to incorporate the Director for the time being of the Ambulance Depart- ment of the Order of St. John in Hong Kong and the Treasurer and Secretary for the time being of the Hong Kong Branch of the St. John Ambulance Association as Custodian Trustees.

WHEREAS the St. John Ambulance Association is a foundation of an Order formerly designated the Grand Priory of the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England, which was duly incorporated by a Charter granted on the 14th day of May, 1838 by Her late Majesty Queer. Victoria, and now designated the Grand Priory in the British Realm of the Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem by virtue of a Charter granted on the 12th day of June, 1926, by His Majesty King George V.

AND WHEREAS the Order has since its incorporation formed the St. John Ambulance Brigade from certified pupils of the St. John Ambulance Association and divided it into portions, that is to say, the St. John Ambulance Brigade, which carries out its work within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and the St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas, which carries out its work in the British Empire overseas, and has placed each portion under the command of an officer who is responsible to the Director of the Ambul- ance Department of the Order AND WHEREAS in the year 1884 a branch of the said St. John Ambulance Associa- tion was established in the Colony of Hong Kong and is known as the Hong Kong Branch of the St. John Ambulance Associa-
