GOVERNMENT WIRELESS TELEGRAPH SCHOOL FOR SHIPS' OPERATORS.

No. 902.-The Hong Kong Government Wireless Telegraph School will open on the 2nd of January, 1935, for the purpose of training candidates for the certificate of proficiency in wireless telegraphy.

Candidates for admission should apply to the Inspector of Wireless Telegraphy, 1st Floor, General Post Office Building, They must be British subjects. Birth certificates must be produced. A good knowledge of English is essential. Approved candidates will be given one month's trial free. On the satisfactory completion of trial they will be accepted for training.

From the date of acceptance for training a fee of $10 per month will be charged, payable in advance.

The average period of training required for a student to obtain a certificate is from six to nine months.

The Government do not undertake to employ or to secure employment for successful students.

The pay of ships' operators varies from $60 to $100 per month with food and accommodation.

Operators employed by Government immediately on completion of training will receive a refund of school fees after two years' satisfactory service.
